  1. Dig a wide trench at the lower edge of the yard and lay mortar less retainer wall. Lowe's and Home Depot sell the blocks.

Build up the wall to level with the high point of the yard (allow some slope for drainage) and fill in dirt.

  2. build a cheap platform until you can get dirt hauled in and excavated.... it will take too long to settle right to do it befoer

  3. Hard work,dedication,manpower and a little $$.

Please don't think I'm being a smarty here but it is reality. With 2 months to go it's easily done.

    1) make a good plan for entire back yard, then concentrate on the most important area's first. This will allow you to do things in phases.I use white inverted spray marking paint to help with layout. It will wear off in short time.

    2) Follow manufacturers instructions for placement.Sometimes french drains are needed.

If your real lucky try searching Craigslist/newspaper for used block.A nice tiered wall system integrating flower beds is always appealing.

    My best,Good Luck
