I've got a lot of gadgets and a small space in my cabinet to store all the cables, adapters, wires etc. Any suggestions to minimize the clutter?

  1. Step 1: Buy some of those tie-wrap things (like the type the bread bag comes closed in).

Step 2: Grab a single cable by one of it's ends. (See the picture: http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q279/... )

Step 3: Wrap it around your hand (letting enough room for your to get your hand out later!) until the cable is completely coiled around your hand. (See the picture: http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q279/... )

Step 4: Wiggle your hand free, firmly holding on to the cable so as to not have to repeat "Step 2". You should have a circle shape, made from the coiled cable.

Step 4: Take a tie-wrap and tie the cable. I usually use more than two so as to keep it's shape and make sure the cable stays put.

Step 5: This is optional, but really practical - grab some masking tape and rip out a significant portion (depending on how thick the cable is: 2 - 4 inches should do). Then, wrap the tape around the cable and with a pen or marker, write down the name of the cable or what it's used for. For example, some of mine say: "USB Cable" or "iPod AV cable" etc.

For adapters, I never recommend you wrapping the cable AROUND the adapter - it places unnecessary stress on the area where the cable goes into the adapter. Just place the adapter on a surface and repeat "Step 2" through "Step 5" with that cable. (See the picture: http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q279/... )

    Hope I helped!
