Any suggestions on how to prepare to go to court to fight a speeding ticket?

I received the ticket December 2006. It was dark and there was alot of traffic. The officer was sitting on the opposite side of the road and was parallel to the road. He was facing the same direction as the oncoming traffic. He turned his lights on and crossed traffic to turn around. I pulled over and another car pulled over between my car and the officer's car. That car then drove off, and the officer pulled up behind me and wrote me a ticket. So there was obviously some confusion. I know I wasn't speeding because I am familiar with the road, I know the posted speed limit, and I know that the police write alot of tickets there. I see them all the time. I was watching my speed. Any thoughts you have would be nice. thanks.

  1. You will not win or get the ticket changed without a paid lawyer. You can try to prove that the radar signal hit the car in front of you but without a lawyer they will just sweep you out the door.

  2. To prepare for court, look at the amount of the fine and then take an extra $50 to $100 out of the bank to cover court costs. You will not win and will have to pay court costs in addition to the fine. Plus the wasted time.
