I've written for years and have accumulated 7 books of personal writings. Whether reviews on books I've read, diary like incerpts, poetry, hikus (sorry on spelling) any and everything. I've thought about trying to turn the poetry into writing music, or something. Any ideas on how to turn my trunk full of books into a trunk full of treasure? Thank you for your help!

  1. Writing and expressing your thoughts is a very good way to pass a moment to releive yourself of tenssion and stress. I too have written and still love to write poems, even I have my own phrases.

Now, I have been doing some checking on my own and there are some magazines that will accept writings and will pay for them also. But before you turn any of your writing over to  any publishing company or magazine, make copies to send and keep the originals. Also if you have written something negative of someone, then change that person's name to a different name or make up a fake name to save the identity of that person.

Also, you may want to check with a library or book store who may have an hour of poetry reading in some evenings where you can go recite your poems and thoughts and people will listen and do find it interesting.

To publish any of your works from notebooks to real books for sale, that you need and agent, someone to proof read your writings, someone if you wish to make simple illustrations of what your writings are saying and then the company who will publish it.  You can send materials direct to publishing companys also direct to books companies. Harlequin I belive takes writings, but check first to be sure and best of wishes on your future books. Hope to see one of your writings in Borders to buy.
