Any suggestions on relocation to Portland Maine? ?

Planning to relocate from NJ to Maine. Looking around Yorks and Portland. How is job market and school systems? Would really like to hear from Native Mainers, rather then copies of website research.

i've lived in maine my whole life and can't wait to get out!

[i live in cornish, maine, about 45mins-1hour away from portland]

i really like a huge city like new york and downtown portland is nothing like that, it's way too small for me but i know some ppl who love it.

it's a great city and has a lot to do!

south portland and scarborough maine are also great places and are not downtown but are right near portland downtown... also westbrook is a good city too.
