  1. try n get a second hand sony pd150. awesome.

  2. in my opinion it would be a great idea to buy canon hg 10 camcorder

  3. When I bought my last digital camera it could take video.  A Panasonic DMC-FX07 is what I picked up.  I had been looking at digital camcorders as well.  But after testing the abilities of filming with a regular camera I was happy.  Unless you want pro looking stuff think about just using a small handheld that can do both functions.  Make sure it has it's own rechargable battery.

The main thing I like is being able to carry it in my pocket.  makes life very easy.  You don't get to record anything if its still in the bag because you didn't want to take it with you because it's a pain to carry around.  and with SD cards that are on sale all the time you don't have to worry about storage.

  4. Get a Panasonic PVGS320 mini-dv camcorder, they're under $400 which will leave you $400 to buy a good digital camera. Spend $6 of it for an online one month subscription to consumer reports and research cameras. I own an Olympus camera and it's very good. I hear Canon is good as well. Spend some time and do the research. You'll thank yourself later when you make informed purchases.
