  1. Light color would probably look the best, you don't want to have to much dark. Remember you can always change the paint, and furniture doesn't last forever.  The floor is a big investment and you have to look at it for years. Make sure you like the color of your wood floor. A large throw rug ads dimension  and you can tie in the colors of your furniture and walls. good luck and have fun

  2. My 1st choice would be a natural maple would go with the palette.  It's light & bright, but not too warm.  My 2nd choice would be the opposite end of the spectrum - an espresso color.  Again, not too warm, no red tones.  One thing to note with very dark floors - they show dust & lint easier, so more sweeping.  I personally would stay away from the medium and/or red browns because the rest of your room has cooler tones.  Good luck!

  3. Tons of choices,,,, but with all the dark,,,, go light.  Besides, light gives more options for staging when it is time to sell.

Check out, www.usa.quick-step.com.  They sell laminate flooring, but have several different types and colors on line to look at, and I bet you can order a free catalog or something.

Without looking at the space, birch, bamboo, bleached oak, maple, poplar,,,,,,

    Good luck.

  4. personaly i would not use wood because the colours your room is are more modern i would suggest somethig like white tiles its easy care and very modern and preety. the light colours makes it modern, and you could put a nice fluffy rug in the center.

    good luck

  5. I think that I would go with a medium brown and somewhat neutral color.  Remember, the furniture can easily be replaced, the floor cannot.  You don't want the floor to be part of the overall design.  The floors should be of a color that will blend everthing together but not the focus.  If you need to take away from the floor to inhance the furniture, use area rugs.

  6. I have always enjoyed the contrast of a lighter floor.  We actually have darker wood furniture with lavender walls and the contrast really opens up the room ~ If your gray varies in shades you may choose a maple as opposed to an oak.  Have fun!
