Any suggestions to help small children with their basic English?

Question

Am helping reception children (coming up to 5 and just turned 5) with their letters and need simple pictures of things starting with "i" for those children who find grasping the sounds difficult - the sound as in the word "difficult". There are always lots starting with "t" or "s" but not for "i".

If any of you out there can give me some ideas, I would be most grateful.

Children aged 5 are using computers frequently.....the word internet is a common word used but to be fair I could not give you a picture idea for this.....using association for each child is the best idea....and try to determine the child's learning style....this will also help.

Igloo, insect.

My little girl is in P1 and they are doing this with letters. I buy her the letterland magazines as they have a character for each letter. Sorry I dont have many words, but they are all I can think of.
