What temp is the water during March? I understand it depends on the day and leangth of winter..blah blah blah. But is there like a standard temp? Im going there for spring break and never been to West Coast. I dream of surfing, but i don't know if I should wear a swim suit or a body suit. Anything would be great!!

  1. haha. definitely a body suit dude. its ca, their currents come from the north man. i think the waters about 50-60 on a summer day.

  2. In LA around March expect 55-65d water temps.  In LA it's a safe bet to say that the temps should be somewhere around the ~60 range.  I would definitely consider wearing a wetsuit before you go out so you can at least have fun w/o freezing.  A 3/2 full suit will do you fine unless you REALLY hate cold water then I would recommend a 4/3.

  3. Current water temps (November 18th) range from around 59 to 64 degrees - that's straight off Surfline today, from San Clemente up to around Manhattan Beach.  Summer temps can go from 62 to 74...but it depends on currents.  Summer 06 we had a weird southern current, and the ocean felt like bathwater for about 3 weeks.

March temps can vary - but will probably be in the low 50's.  Definitely use a wetsuit.
