Question:

Any swimmers notice this?

doesnt it seem like as fast as you get into shape, you get out of shape just as fast in competitive swimming? like one week ill notice i dont have much fat and after about a few days off or lighter workouts, i notice some fat starting to come back

do any other swimmers notice this?

  1. yeah sort of....

    i dont really notice a difference in the amount of fat or weight or w/e, but more of a difference in my performance in the water. meaning after a couple days of break i swim slower


  2. Yes I notice that too. That's why I'm worried what my swimming will be like after my vacation. I'm going to be gone for a week can't swim @ practice. :(  So I think it has something to do wit ht the fact that since were so used to eating a lot we keep our eating schedule and the fat comes back.  I don't even think that we realize that were eating so much after awhile...it's just normal.

  3. I certainly notice this. My coach always tells us that for everyday of practice we miss it takes 2 more days to make it up. I don't think it's really fat coming back, but it's just your body looses the endurance quickly from not practicing.

  4. I don't know about the fat, but you do lose endurance very fast. My coach used to say you lose 20% of your endurance capacity after a week and that rate increases exponentially so at the end of three to four weeks what you had trained up to is gone completely.

  5. haha h**l yea, now that ive been off action for a good 2 months.. man i gotta get back to work this fall
