  1. If you teach in a K-12 district, you are paid the same no matter what grade you teach.

If you teach in a K-8 district, you are paid less than if you work in a 9-12 district.

  2. There is not a different pay for elem vs upper grades.  You however are paid for your experience (years of), and degree level.  Start looking at colleges and go visit and see what you can take during the summer months.  Also visit a teacher at the interested grade levels and see how you like it.  It is a challenge but it is rewarding.  Good Luck

  3. In all 3 of the school systems I have taught in all teachers are payed based on years of experience and not which grade level they teach.  The benefits are pretty good.  Usually your health care is 100% covered.
