Any team can make a difference in T20s, feels Mohammad Hafeez – Cricket News Update
Having beaten http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 captain, is confident of adjusting to the Sri Lankan conditions but admits that T20 is a funny game and any team can be beaten on a given
day.
Pakistan are placed in group ‘D’ alongside New Zealand and Bangladesh, with their first match scheduled to be played on September 23rd, against the Kiwis at Pallekele. Prior to that, the Green Shirts will play a couple of warm-up fixtures against
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 on September 17th and 19th respectively.
Hafeez and company will play both their group matches in Pallekele, where the ball does tend to move off the pitch and in the air more than most Asian grounds. With Pakistani batting’s vulnerability against the moving ball, it remains to be seen if they
are able to perform well in the mega event or not.
The Pakistan captain however, in the presence of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sohail-Tanvir-c90665, is confident about doing well in the group matches. On top of that, the Green Shirts have the services of some of the world’s best spinners.
"We know that the Pallekele pitch is suited for fast bowlers and we are prepared to execute with the mix we have got. We have good seamers and spinners," he said.
The Men in Green have generally done well in the game’s shortest format, having won one edition of the World T20 and qualified for the semi-finals of two; however, Hafeez does not want his side to be complacent and thinks that no team can be taken lightly
in T20s.
"Any team can make a difference even in one over. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 are dangerous on any day and so are Bangladesh," the all-rounder added. "I am wary of the pressure
of the first round and the boys are ready for the challenge."
The practice matches have started today, with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 by nine wickets, but the tournament is going to officially kick-off on September 18th.
