Question:

Any teens whose minds were changed by watching "Baby Borrowers"?

We have many young girls who post here, still in their teens, and wanting to get pregnant on purpose because "I have always loved kids and I babysit my nephew so I know how hard it is and I know I am ready to be a mom and my boyfriend wants one too." I suspect that a good number of those are troll posts, but sadly, I know not all of them are.

So I am curious--how many teens out there who thought they were ready to be parents watched "Baby Borrowers" and had their minds changed by watching the people who were going through the experiment?

For those who haven't seen the show, it's about five couples, ages 18-20, who think they are ready for marriage and parenthood, and they are put through an experiment where they become "parents."

  1. I really didnt like it and no my mind hasnt changed! The first show was ok but the rest were kind of stupid!

  2. it kinda changed my mind it more made me want to go on the show and try it myself

  3. I think that show is dumb...it looked interesting and I was excited to see it...but I don't think it is real enough.  What they go through on the show is nothing like real life.

  4. I cant wait till tomorrow to see the town hall meeting.I think they learned there lesson seeing as none of the couples are still together.I havnt ever been one of those teens but I hope they have another season next summer. And even though they only spend a short amount of time with each age group, they learn that parenting is hard and it doesnt get anty easier as the child gets older.

  5. I've always know that child rearing would be hard work and never really wanted to have children in my teenage years. Some teenagers these days don't realize how much work raising a child is. That show can really be an eye opener to those particular teens.

  6. I plan on getting married in my very early 20s and having children right after.

This show didn't change my mind.  The couples themselves weren't at all stable to begin with, they purposely casted people with relationship and emotional problems just to prove their point. And its more difficult to raise and discipline a child that isn't your own since they don't take you seriously.

I wouldn't think of having a child outside of marriage, or while i'm still in high school, but there are some couples that can make good parents while relatively young.  None of those couples communicated what they felt or what was going on.  Without communication, duh everything is going to fall apart

  7. As some one who's decided to at least wait til I'm 24 (finished my masters degree) to have kids that show just reinforced it... And this is on top of the 4 kids I babysit on a regular basis.

  8. i didnt want one in the first place...

  9. I dont really like that show like that.

  10. I've never seen it, and I have no desire to get pregnant but it sounds like a good show and very helpful. Learn from other people's mistakes.

  11. i'm not old enough to even CONSIDER actually having kids (im 13) but i do know that i REALLY wanna be one of the teens they have to watch next season!

  12. didn't change my mind at all. when you have a baby not only gonna have them for 3 days, then move on to a toddler for 3 days then a pre teen and so on. its gonna takes years to do that and with those years you gain experience. plus i highly doubt those teen boys get up at 2:09 am and do that at their house. they probably behave differently around their parents and when theres no cameras around so in reality its not always gonna be that hard. i don't want kids any way. the show was a good one but didn't really show parenting as it really is. plus the producers giving them those perfect houses kinda made the job seem easier. in real life no 18 year old with a kid is gonna be living in a house like that with every thing provided for them with like trained nannys and stuff and they wont have all those people around to socialize with.   but overall all it was still a really good show and did point out some important things.
