  1. Even my high school team does this, we use foam balls that bounce like a tennis ball, slower you know, and volley with those as a warm up and see who can go the longest.

  2. My best drill was on a cinderblock wall that had the net painted on it.

Hit all forehands near the line and then backhands.

    My tennis game improved dramatically

  3. Why an Earth would you want to put a drill through tennis balls of all things?

Is this the sort of thing your friends of family do when thier bored?

    Snow Man

  4. tell them to hit a ball agains a wall as hard as they can 100 times

  5. I would try this game where you have 2 lines, one for each side of the court. Then you have 2 kids stand at the baseline of either side of the court and then 2 facings on the other side of the net. The net person feeds it to the person at the baseline and they have to try to pass them or just make sure they don't hit it back. If they hit a clean winner, then the baseliner goes to the other side. If the net person hits a clean winner, they stay. The only other way for the baseliner to go over is if the net person makes 2 errors.

Other games I know are Around the World where there are 2 singles lines on either side of the court. Feed begins teh game and after each hit, you have to run to the other side to hit the ball again. if you miss, you are out. Lasting one standing wins. ANother game is King of the Court where you have to win 2 points as the challenger to become King. It's basically a one on one best of 3 point game.

  6. 1. have one person on one side(A) and the others on side(B)

    2. fed side B tennisballs (one person at a time)

                   * make sure B gets it in the court first while A  tries to send it to the other side and they could play a game tell it is out or gets in the net or out and the person on B goes to side A and side A goes to side B

    3. play this for 15 mintues and whoever is on side A wins!

sorry if this sounds confusing : (

  7. join a team... any team doesnt really matter lol sorry if that doesnt help...

  8. 1. Have them stand at the net (about 5 kids, 2 in the alleys, one in the middle, and two on the sides). Feed in gentle volleys and overheads. Make it a contest...who can stay in longest without missing? Winner gets a piece of candy.

    2. Put out targets (like hopper baskets or trash cans). Again, make it a contest for them to try and hit the targets. Whoever hits the most targets wins and gets a Gatorade.

    3. Around the world: Split the group evenly: half the kids on one side, the other half on the opposite side. Feed the ball to one side (play singles). They will hit one ball and run to the other side. Then the kid on the opposite side must return the ball, and they too will switch sides. Keep this up until two players remain. Then they will just volley back and forth until someone misses. The twist is that you have to spin around after you hit it. (The twist is only in effect when only two players remain)

    4. Jailbreak: I've worked with kids and they LOVE this. All the kids stand at one side, at the net. One child stands on the other side of the net and tries to catch the ball. If they miss, they go back to the losers side. If they catch it, the person who hit it to them is out. The point is to teach them to direct it away from the opponent. It's fun because you mix in sports like baseball with the tennis and change it up a bit.

    Good Luck and Have Fun!
