Any thoughts on Samoa winning Hong Kong Sevens against Fiji?

Pacific Island Nation, Samoa, finally won Hong Kong Sevens last week after 14 years. It was an awesome win that was well deserved. Thoughts?

I am from Fiji and Rugby Sevens is our national sport. However, I think Samoa deserved to win coz Fiji underestimated them after defeating New Zealand in the semis.

An awesome and well deserved victory by Samoa who have already won the Wellington Sevens on the world circuit this year.

Can they transform this obvious natural talent they have that's visible in sevens and put out a team at the World Cup that's capable of upsetting some of the bigger nations?

Samoa have qualified for a number of quarter finals of the world cup but they're finding it harder and harder to do so nowadays as Argentina have streaked ahead of them as the team outside the Tri-Nations/Six Nations group of teams that are privelidged enough to compete regularly at the highest level.

Hats off to Samoa though, they're looking excellent in sevens and that can only bode well for the future.

It's absolutely excellent to see Samoa take out the Hong Kong sevens and winning a sevens tournament for the second time this year. They're shining this year and are in great form this year, the greatest that they've ever been. Their defence is amazing, I cant believe how consistent they were during the whole game. Samoa are a team known for slowing down a bit during the game but during that game they continually surprised me with both their attack and defence. Fiji were just as great. I always look forward for a game with Fiji their intelligence and class always excites me with every game I watch. But hats off to Samoa and their magnificent performance throughout that game.
