Question:

Any tipe on improving the 4x4 time?

My team thinks we could perhaps break the school 4x4 record at our next meet thursday. Me and another member went to the gym and did squats 10x10 a few days ago to stregthen ourselves. Anyone else have any other ideas?

  1. 55.2 is a great time. to get myself prepared for the meet on thursday, really practice your handoffs since you are a relay team. even if you have your handoffs down, the more you practice them, the more time you can cut.  with that having been said, you obviously need to work on your actual 400 run as well. what i would do is every other day until the meet time your 400 to see where you are.  also, i would continue doing squats. those should help immensely. lift weights, your arms need to be strong too. work out hard for the next few days, but dont hurt yourself!!! work on strenghtening your entire body, since running requires not only your legs but the rest of your body as well. get your team to train with you.  eat very healthy for the next couple of days, and especially the day of the race.  stretch A LOT!! even more than you normally do! the tighter and more tense your muscles are, the slower you will go! so relax, and follow this advice. it sounds like a lot, but it shouldnt be too difficult.

  2. What is your best time? the only way to improve your time is to really sprint it out the last 100 meters.
