I just started snowboarding and am still trying to carve. Any tips for me?

I'm not sure what foot to put more weight on when and I'm working on my balance, but I could use some advice!

  1. listen to the rider...when you bend your knees, your center of balance is lower, so its harder to lose your balance. For starters, put a little bit more weight on the front foot, but not too much, cause you dont want to go too fast. Lean forward a little bit to get a bit more control on the board.                            To make things easier, try going down with a little bit of an angle, by moving your back foot either to the left or right. That way you go slower and more controlled, and it makes it easier to stop if you lose control.....Also, when you try turning, make sure to lean enough so that the other edge doesn't get caught in the snow, and you do a face plant. That's about all there is to know. Now you need to hit the slopes!!

  2. don't break your neck. or you will be likley to die.

  3. I have the perfect spot to find all kinds of great tips look under free couching vid's http://snowsportblog.blogspot.com/ and please sign the guest book if you'd like a great photo with you on your snowboard would be great.

  4. Put more pressure on your front foot i know it will seem scary at first but you'll get more speed and thats where all the balance is if you lean too far back your going to fall back good luck hope to see you on the slopes!

  5. If you are having problem, get some guidance from an instructor on the snow.  They will show you just what you need to do and how to do it. The balance on a snowboard is dynamic, not static, you will need to move your weight from heel to toe and back  also from one foot to the other as the turn progresses.

  6. You should put more presure on the foot in front and sway the one behind back and forth resulting in carving!  dont worry if you dont catch on right away it took me forever cause no one showed me how but now i got it and its sooo much funner!  You should see if you could get a snowboard lesson that would help you out alot!  :)  good luck!

  7. BEND YOU KNEES! put a little more weight on your front and slide the back around. once you get used to it put all your weight on your back foot and slide it around to shoot snow at people. stay on the edges of your board too. lift up your toes one way and lift up your heels the other but make shure you keep those knees bent. the more the better
