Any tips for a pull as a right guard?

Our coach really focuses on pulls, but I'm not sure if I'm exploding from the line or in the best stance I can do. He isn't complimenting, but he isn't yelling at me either... Easy ten?

  1. you gotta fire out low and turn ur hips quickly towards the pull and stay close the the LOS. stay low and make sure u get ur head on the inside shoulder and drive the guy to the sidelines

  2. The most important thing to do is make sure u get in ur stance as if it was a regular block. U dont want to point becuz then the defense knows where the balls goin b4 the snap and ur coach will yell at u for that. Don't put all the weight on ur fingers as if u were run blockin, u almost want to lean back a little as if u were gonna pass block (this is becuz u don't explode out). Then once the ball is snapped, if u are pulling to the left then jerk ur left elbow in the direction ur goin as if u r tryin to hit some1. Just flip this for ur right. And 1 of the most important things is to stay low, this will help u pull faster.

  3. Adam is right on for the start of the pull....

    A couple other things..

    1. Stay close to the LOS. Don't get depth, run flat down the line. Trust that the T and TE will fire out.

    2. Finish your block. Whether your kicking out or leading to pin down, run through the man. After you make contact, run him as far downfield as you can... always block til the whistle.

    3. Don't be afraid to ask the coach how you are doing and what you need to work on.....

    Good Luck
