Hi. I'm 15 and I run cross country. I'm going in to my sophmore year of high school. My current season PR is around 19 minutes, but it was like 90 degrees out. Last year I lowered it to around 18 minutes. I was 5'8" to 5'9" last year and weighed 140 lbs. This year I grew to 5'10" and I now weigh around 155. I would appreciate anybody's opinion on how to healthily lower my weight back to around 140 without losing energy for workouts and races. Any help?

Also, if anyone has any suggestions on how to lower my 5k time even more, that would be appreciated as well.

  1. 5' 10" and 155 lbs is not over weight.  You may want to lose some fat and replace it with muscle.  Push the pace a little more every time you run your, times will come down and you'll burn fat.
