I'm in my second season of playing rugby in Papua New Guinea and I must say the game is just sweet. I weigh around 60 kg, stand at about 1.7m, and am a fairly good runner. I've been playing at outside centre and want tips to improve on my game, hence this request.

  1. I agree with Dani but also watch the ALL BLACKS you will learn alot.

  2. Learn from other players on your team - watch how the forwards take the ball into contact and try to develop this, and watch how the back three dodge out of contact. Also practise a lot of sprints to increase your speed, and LOTS of passing drills with other people on the team - learn lots of clever moves missing people out and crossing over etc. Also practising kicking is a good idea - is always better if you can do it. And be confident in making tackles - if you hit them hard in the first ten minutes of the game, they will try to avoid you for the rest of it!! Just have fun out there!
