Question:

Any tips for building yourself back up after having the flu?

I've had the flu or a cold for about a month now and am just exhausted all the time. It's getting better now (the only symptom left now is a wicked cough) but I still am having a really time getting built back up physically. I used to walk several miles a day and now get winded walking through the grocery store. Any tips, homeopathic remedies or advice?

  1. I say lots of warm tea and honey.  Pick out a tea that you like and mix in a little honey.  Also, warm soup, or just broth alone would help.  A good chicken broth (No noodles, carrots, etc.) is Swanson Broth which is fairly cheap but Yummy.

  2. Having a bug for a month and lingering effects is not so good. There have been a lot of nasty bugs lately. Medicine is pretty lost these days.

I depend upon Nature's Sunshine herbs, they have the strongest potency, and are the most consistent. If I were in your situation I would take three echinachea capsules and one cracked high potency garlic for immunity and two marshmallow/fenugreek for lung support every three hours(an extra dose before bed) till my symptoms subsided and my strength returned. Also I would cut out most sweeteners, especially sugar for at least a month. This is basic, if you are able to find one of the few effective herbalists/kinesiologists they can help you fine tune it even more.

These bugs are so nasty and diverse these days that sometimes the basics don't work. They work much better than medicine though. I have seen so many people in this similar situation who have depended upon medicine and are in the same boat as you.

  3. maybe it's just me, but my drama teacher told me to drink orange juice 24/7 and the vitamins really helped!
