  1. Skating will get you in shape.  There's plenty of chunky-sized skaters out there (with very strong legs!).

Sign up for classes and enjoy.

  2. First, buy some skates. Pretty much everywhere has a figure skating club, just go to the local rink and ask or read the bulliten board. I used to skate and once I'd signed up I went two or three times a week and you pay extra for private lessons (where I'm from, anyway) and yeah you can work on jumps, spins, footwork, there's skills testing and they also test "dances" which aren't really dances, just patterns sort of and you can compete and all that jazz. It's expensive if you're doing tests and competitions though, find things second hand. Good Luck!

  3. you need to get flexible, strong and have good balance.

to stretch, here's a site somebody gave me: http://www.skating-wos.on.ca/sportsci/st...

  4. do not attempt the iron lotus

  5. lol Iron Lotus so blades of Glory!!

anyway try finding out  about lessons n stuff .

  6. Well just do the best you can and never ever give up!! but the best tip i can give is keep your back straight, knees bent and look up. it annoys the heck out of coaches when your look at your skates! hope i helped!!
