  1. That's too bad you mom won't let you because it really is a wonderful language. But like someone else said, travelling is a good option, although probably out of the question. Begin listening to Swedish music (you can check on Wikipedia for music from Sweden, search Google, or look at the top music on Swedish iTunes (but not download btw)) and find lyrics with English translations. This helped me in the beginning! Also, check out a bookstore and get some CD's with dialog/workbook combo that not only let you hear the language, but you read it at the same time. That's key! If you get the chance, maybe check out Swedish blogs that have also have English translations or use a Swedish dictionary to translate words (see link below). Good luck!

  2. eat a lot of meatballs and herring

  3. get a tape or cd & learn off that, write notes down or make things up to remind you.

  4. I belong to an online language learning site called Livemocha.  It's a great social site for learning new languages, and making friends.  I'm learning Mandarin Chinese, but you can learn any language there by speaking live with native speakers, as well as taking quizzes and practicing with flashcards.

If you join, then please add me!

  5. go to sweeden

  6. i can teach you a swedish massage
