Any tips for someone struggling with the french knot?

I am about to toss my embroidery project out of my high rise window!

I keep pulling it though...even though I am trying to keep the second hole near, but not too near the 1st hole!

Dont try to pull it tooooo tight.  And as for placing the second part of the stitch, go over just 3-4 threads.  that's all.

keep practicing.... you'll get it right!

~ wrap a few more times around needle before going back in. And like you said you are trying to get close to 1st hole. You need to get over a bit more.
