  1. tones of toys books milk juice

  2. I always pack a snack bag (cheerios, raisins, gold fish, hot dog, chicken, and more).  I also pack a toy bag (old digital camera, old cell phone, anything w/ buttons for amusement).  At 2, you can also brings crayons and a coloring book.  You just need to use your imagination and turn everything into a toy.  A water bottle is a shaker, a potatoe chip bag is a noise maker, and airplane window is for sight seeing, etc.

Feed him prior to boarding, change his diaper prior to boarding, and then get ready for take off.  When it's nap time, try to get him to settle in on your lap and take a nap.

Noah's been on a plane at least 6 times, he's been a great traveler but I do have to keep on my toes!  I'm always looking for our next source of entertainment!

  3. It is hard, but it can be done.  First, try to book direct.  Connections create the possibility of delay and that makes things worse.

Second, bring lots of different, relatively healthy snacks in small ziplocks (& something for slow chewing to help their ears pop-- raisins, etc).

Third, wrap some small toys (hot wheels, plastic junk) and give them out every hour-- the wrapping makes it last longer...

Fourth, bring playdoh.  Sounds crazy?  It is small and usable on the tray table and nothing settles a toddler like something they can smash between their fingers.

Fifth,  bring a box of cheap bandaids.  At 2 they take forever to unwrap them and stick them on.  They are cheaper than stickers and they'll put them on the plane's booboos, your boo boos, the attendants boo boos.

Sixth, find the friendly old lady on the plane who loves children and hang out in the aisle near her seat...

Seventh, you child may cry... know that you have done your best and just hang in there. Sometimes 3 minutes of loud crying ends with 3 hours of sleeping toddler.

  4. Sounds like an international flight. Relax, they've got cartoons on the video list!

Try to pick a flight at night or make sure your little one doesn't sleep much before you leave! Bring favorite books toys in his own bag (not yours) along with a plastic bag and a change of clothes...

Also, it's a good idea to pick your "bad guy" flight attendant.  My 2 yr. old would NOT stay in his seat, so I found a flight attendant who seemed a bit rough, told him he'd have to be a bully for me, and then brought him over to our seats. I told my son to put on his seatbelt and sit still, and when he refused, the attendant scared him into behaving!

  5. Hi make sure you have lots of little baggies of food; (no liquids due to airplane restrictions) but ask for extra juice boxes when you book your ticket.; bring tons of little toys--bring a few "NEW" toys--to bring out a few hours in, in the middle of a boring part &  a prize for at the end.

Also bring his favorite toy or blanket. I'd dress him in pajamas as that is comfortable to sleep in and easy to go to the bathroom in.  Consider a few music song CDS on mp3 that he can listen to.

Ask for the seat at the front of the economy section (assuming you aren't in first class) as you'll have more leg room & he can sit on the floor if he needs to. (sorry he OR SHE)...

Plus you'll be closer to the bathroom lol.

Make sure your air craft knows you have a 2 yr old with you lol. Is someone else travelling with you? If so, sleep on schedules--1 with kid at all times.

Make sure you don't require him/her to be perfect for potty training during this time as its a different environment.
