  1. I had the same problem once and I attached pretty narrow ribbon, piece to the back at the center right and one to the front at the center right and tied a bow....added to the decoration and solved the problem too.

  2. just keep a paperclip on it until they open the card

  3. I can think of several possibilities:

    1. lightly score the card on the outside, then fold it

    2. lightly damp the paper, then use hot iron

    3. light damp the paper, put on sheet pan, and put weight on top, then heat dry in oven

    4. place a thin wire tight against inside corner, then fold it tight. the idea is to make tight round corner, instead of V-shape corner.

But first, test each one with leftover hand-made paper, and see which one work best.

If none of them work out, I recommend tying the home-made card with beautiful ribbon, just like this one.

Good luck and tell me which one work best.

  4. Iron it. Set your iron to medium heat, and place a pillow case over the card to prevent the paper getting burned. Iron over the card (folded of course), concentrating on the creased edge, pressing down firmly. DO NOT USE STEAM I can't stress that enough. Even with the pillow case for protection, if  you use steam it might get the paper just damp enough to wrinkle. Once you are done ironing, place a heavy book on top of the card for about half an hour while it cools, and when you take the book off the card it should stay flat.

  5. Scoring it is your best quick option.  Open the card and lay it flat (inside down) on a firm, flat surface.  Use a small knitting needle, an inkless pen, a retractable pen that is retracted, or some such hard, thin item.  Using a straightedge, draw a line along where you want the fold to be.  Now, close the card and crease it well along that same fold line.  This should help.
