Question:

Any tips of feeding clothes?

I'm struggling to find breastfeeding tops and wondered if anyone could suggest places (i live in the uk). My baby doesn't like those tops with a double layer and a hole to feed through - she has problems attaching. What I'd really like is button down tops so I can get the whole breast out as that is the easier way to feed her but the only tops I can find like that are shirts. Any suggestions? Thanks

  1. I just went to Sainsburys and got a whole load of stuff - vest tops with a few buttons, a nice shirt dress/ long line shirt and a lovely shirt/top with buttons at the bust but a belt tie. Also some cardigans as despite it being August there's no sunshine so I didn't want to be cold while feeding.

I also have a couple of the secret support feeding vests from mothercare - I agree with you about the double layer tops, I have one and expose more in that to help my son latch than in anything non-breastfeeding! lol

I took advantage of the 25% off weekend but they do these a lot.

I found some pretty good and very cheap stuff (maternity pay dictated!!)

    Good luck

I also just found a UK site called apple blossom - google it - especially for breastfeeding mums who want to look good!

  2. I love my buton down nursing tanks. I can wear shirts over them (just life up the shirt and un button the top and you're still pretty covered), cardigans, etc. They are made by Gilligan & O'Malley. I'm not sure if they are in physical stores in the UK, but I know they are on Amazon.com. Good luck! Finding good nursing gear is a pain!

  3. I used to just wear whatever top i wanted to wear with a light cami/vest underneath, that way i could pull my normal top up but my belly and everything was still covered. I found this loads easier and i had loads of clothes that i could still wear after i finished breastfeeding. Try this.

    Good luck!

  4. Giggle.com is one of the best sites for all baby products….they have an amazing interface and a ton of content and products……Here is a link for some discounts as well if you are interested… http://bit.ly/NLNse

  5. go for mother care products they have very convenient  clothing that you find very comfortable while breast feeding

  6. you could just wear a regular t shirt and use this to cover your modesty

i had a look, i dont think you will be able to just buy it from the shop, you'd have to order them online, just do a yahoo search on 'breastfeeding clothes' and limit the results to pages from the UK.

  7. do a world wide search.

ask each store if their cloths can be bought locally.

if not, then mail order it to your door.

if all fails, u can always make what u want.

  8. i got some from here. just a few nice ones for out and about. the tops with the side opening and flaps are just what you are looking for! im in uk too and the stuff came really quickly.
