I'm an aunt to 8 kids all under the age of four. I'm 14 and I just want to know how I can bond with my 1 year old nephew more. I play games with him, and we love eachother, He is my favorite (Yeah, I know it's childish to call favorites, but we have a special bond) and when he comes over, he walks straight to me and wants me to play with him. The one thing is that he has a new baby sister, and I want to bond with her too, because that's when I started to bond with Myles. but I don't want my nephew, Myles to feel left out. Any suggestions for bonding with a newborn, and a 1 year old at the same time?

  1. Start  a  memory,/ photo books  at  your  place.  Make  one  for  each.  The  older  can  help with  the new  baby memory book.  Each  time they come  put  something  new  in it.  They  will learn as  they  grow it is special.  Ive  done  that  with  3  grandgirls  that  all came in 2  years.

  2. Kids love to think they are helping you. If you ask the 1 year old to go get something for the newborn, like a stuffed animal or a diaper, etc...he will feel included while you get to also spend time with the baby. You can try to show him how to be gentle with his new sister by letting him give her kisses or just showing him how to play safely with her. This can help them bond too.

  3. Jealousy is a very common behavior of older siblings. But u can prevent that by playing with BOTH of them at the same time and if it ends up in a arguement or his lil sis starts cryin or somethin, dont scream at them or anything just comfort both of them.Let them know it's alright and tell them to give each other a hug and they will come back playin again.

    good luck

    i hope i helped

    have fun

    bye
