I am helping one of my friends with her college search. She is interested in playing softball at the Division I level in college. Any tips, advice, or personal experience that you would like to share on how to get into this competitive division, what steps she should take, or how she can even find out if it's the right choice for her? Thanks!

  1. well defiantly she needs to practice and keep working hard.  as long as she believes in herself and is confident than she can do it.  well do research on the college or division one. ask a question specific for that division.  and let people tell her if that is a right choice or not. and also ask for other options just in case is a better league out there.

  2. If she isn't being recruited then maybe try finding out who the coach is at some of her choices....send a DVD with a hand written note asking the coach to watch the video...DON'T EMAIL...more than likely it will get looked over....you have to act interested and be persitent....call once a week, make yourself known and that you have a passion for the game.  If all else fails, work your butt off and walk on to try out...

  3. if you go to collegeboard.com

you can search for schools based on what you want. it litterally accomodates everything you can think of. it also gives you a breakdown of the statistics of kids that go there (their SAT scores, grades, etc.)

    really good site.
