  1. Computer viruses are small software programs that are designed to spread from one computer to another and to interfere with computer operation. A virus might corrupt or delete data on your computer, use your e-mail program to spread itself to other computers, or even erase everything on your hard disk. Malware is a general term for any program that makes changes (does malicious things) without your permission.Try  http://computer-probs.blogspot.com/  to get  solution for all problems.

  2. well if your a Comcast customer you get Mcafee for free and i know it will remove all viruses below is the link to download if you have comcast. if you dont have comcast then i have no other solution but to format your computer because all that stuff that removes viruses are not free and they are expensive. (and your computer is faster wen you start fresh anyway.)

  4. Make sure your Anti Virus is up todate. Before you do a scan restart your computer and just before Windows starts press the F8 key and choose Safe Mode and then scan your Computer. Safe Mode only starts the files needed to run your computer. I have used Avast for years and it is great.

  5. I like this FREE tool that does an EXCELLENT job.

    Avast free Home Edition

    Get it here:

    http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.ht...

And please do a "thorough" scan as soon as you get it downloaded. The user interface is simple. Click the left side, and in the top menu that comes up, select thorough scan.

When it finds a culprit it throws up an alarm, then you DELETE the culprit, (do not quaranteen).

Then allow it to run all of the time, and you will be completely protected. It will "automatically" update itself, also for free.

You only need to renew your registration once a year, also free.

Note: I KNOW of several people who have used AVG and Norton and have gotten a virus anyway.

Don't go with Zone Alarm as it is hoggy and conflicting.

I've tried them all, and have had wonderful results with DEPENDABLE AVAST for the last 5 years.

The corporation I work for uses the Pro version, and has never has an incident. Avast is your answer.

  6. Start by ridding yourself of one of those anti-virus programs.

You MUST use only one!  Uninstall the other.

This is what a Microsoft MVP has to say about the subject. You may also want to consider reading her entire web-page on "How to prevent Malware". It is one of the best that I have seen.

"Never install more than one Antivirus and Firewall! Rather than giving you extra protection, it will decrease the reliability of it seriously! The reason for this is that if both products have their automatic (Real-Time) protection switched on, your system may lock up due to both software products attempting to access the same file at the same time. Also because more than one Antivirus and Firewall installed are not compatible with eachother, it can cause system performance problems and a serious system slowdown."

I suggest that you uninstall AVG as it is wildly popular with children and the computer illiterate but has historically had the lowest virus detection rate of all the popular free anti-virus programs.

Then if you still have malware issues, use this ONLINE scanner...Scan for virus, worms, dialers, etc. and remove (free online scan, no installed program) with BitDefender's Anti-virus Online Scanner. Press scan online on the left.

You do not have to uninstall any of your current protections to use an online scanner.

    Good luck.
