Any tips on how i can last longer in running 1.5 miles in under 12 minutes?

  1. Train to run five miles--and forget the clock.  Run at a slow speed.  Take an hour to run the five miles.  Then slowly start building up your speed with each run.  Maybe only a minute faster each time.  When you get it down to 45 minutes, running a 1.5 in under 12 will be a breeze.  And you won't be wiped out at the end of it, you'll have energy left for the pushup/situp test (usually if you have to run 1.5 miles you are also tested on those other things too)


  2. start practicing, and then when you can go a certain distance, try to go farther. that's what i did for the school mile run.
