  1. everyone has differnet skills!

u might not be cut out for hitting or setting ..

    just practice LOTS ..

    always move yer feet

    :)

  2. This might not be the answer you want to hear, but the way to becoming a good volleyball player is to practice, practice, then practice some more. If you have a coach, ask him/her questions about how to improve your basic skills. Get a ball and practice setting the ball to yourself for 10 mins a day, EVERY day.

Concentrate on one (or maybe two) skill(s) per day. Don't do 5 mins of this and 5 mins of that, and 5 mins of something else.

  3. There are different skills for each position. If I ask you how to be a good football player, are you going to tell me to work on my passing, or my tackling ability?

  4. volleyball is a game that, if you're not very good, it will be hard to get very good. but practice always improves your skill a lot...

make sure when you're bumping to hold your hands and arms out FLAT and not crossing your fingers or anything. I used to keep my fists close, but after making them flat, palms facing up, you get a lot of control of the ball.

    Best of luck!!

  5. have really good fundamentals (ie. bumping, setting, serving, hitting, blocking).

have a good attitude and be a team player.

cheer for other people and have sportsmanship.

have fun! and look like you are enjoying yourself out there on the court :]]

  6. Be helpful towards the team. Donn't be a total ball hog. Practice your skills, never stay still. Be down and ready at all times. Dive for the ball, and be truely didicated.

  7. Just remember that teamwork is key and ask the coach questions on how to improve your game*
