  1. Step 1: buy a toohbrush, and some toothpaste.

Step 2: With the toothbrush in your left hand and the toothpaste in your right, put a pea-sized amount of toothpaste onto the toothbrush.

Step 3: Put the toothbrush inside your child's mouth and clean his teeth in little circular motions.

    I think that's about everything....

  2. ive found that playing games really helps.

or you clean first then let let them have a go, complement them all the time.

  3. use a toothbrush

  4. I think you're making quite good progress there if you can even get the brush in his mouth, so don't worry! Take your son to the dentist to get him used to it-they listen to the dentist more than their parents. Both my boys got a lecture from our dentist about brushing at their last visit, but they have permanent teeth-don't worry too much about the milk teeth. Try telling him about teeth, but not when you're standing there with the toothbrush. Tell him what happens when you don't brush, and about having toothache or having a tooth out. I'm sure he'll start when he becomes more aware of things. He's still only a baby (he sounds really cute) and you aren't doing anything wrong, it just takes time.

  5. I try and play a game with daughter by asking her to sing or say AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH (for getting in the back) and EEEEEEEEEEEEE ( for the front ones) and i say it with her and start to make funny noises just for a laugh and once i've cleaned them i put another wee drop of toothpaste on the brush and let her do it herself.

  6. Pin him down by kneeling on his chest, hold chin in vice like grip and scrub!! Not really - I have 2 of my own, I found letting them choose a battery powered novelty brush really worked. Not a fan of flavoured paste so we use a Colgate junior variety. We also have a little egg timer from the dentist and they scrub until the sand has run out! Happy cleaning.

  7. Do it together....

    :D

my mom and i did that till I was 6.

  8. I find it easier if you stand behind the child and tilt their chin up, maybe you could play a game such as counting to a certain number or singing a song or even use a timer that will beep. Start off with a short time and increase it gradually

  9. Go to the pharmacy and ask for a finger toothbrush.  They fit on your fingers and YOU do the cleaning.  Your son obviously isn't ready to do it himself.

  10. You need to give him a reward for brushing his teeth.

    Do a reward chart/Star chart.

Draw one up  monday tues.. and so on and do Morning and nightime.  If he brushes his teeth on that day at that time then reward him with a sticker.  If he manages to do it all week then buy him a little reward. Like colouring pencils or a little teddy bear that isnt expensive. Tell him that. Hopefully he'll listen and brush his teeth.  Or maybe get a toothbrush with his favourite character on it.

Also brush with him. Even if it is like 8pm.  You don't have to put any on your, pretend your doing it.   Or say that if he doesnt brush his teeth one of his toys will be taken away.

He'll learn.  Hope this has helped x
