Any tips on how to clear up vaginal thrush?

I've been suffering from vaginal thrush for about a week and a half now. It is very itchy and really annoying. I have started using a thrush cream from the chemist but find it comes off really easily. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to to clear it up or at least make it less annoying?

I would suggest making some garlic water. Blend up garlic and strain. the wash with this solution.
