  1. Coaches LOVE when the players can call the ball, put in effort, dont give in, dont complain, show that averyone is a part of the team no matter their skill level. I always had good relationships with coaches, they told me what they want to see. I have had coaches ask me to help them with tryouts.

My dad was coaching another team for a while and i was the assistant... I know what coaches want to see.

  2. Be consistent is HUGE. No one likes a player who gets 2 of 10 serves but aces if it goes over. Hit it in the court, pass well, serve in, and set if you can. That's all it takes.

  3. make sure you are positive about EVERYTHING.  if a player misses a serve, say "good try."  "its ok".  hustle after EVERYTHING.  even if a ball is almost impossible to retrieve, you should sprint after it.  call the ball LOUDLY.  even if it isn't coming to you, say "backrow!" or "set set set!!!".  come to the camp everyday, and be there on time and ready to go.  another thing is to be consistent.  even if you don't have a hard spike or serve, if you can make 10 out of 10 of them, a coach will like that better than a hard spike that is out 9/10 times.  always ask questions, and if you don't understand something, speak up!  a coach wants a player that can talk to them, and isn't afraid to speak up.     have fun!

    good luck!

  4. Coaches want someone who's going to listen to what they say and do as they say. Keep a positive attitude and if they instruct you on a way to attempt differently, try it, it just might work. They also want someone who's going to be a leader. Calling the ball and cheering on teammates is a great way to be noticed for a positive attitude. Posititve attitude can also be observed in body movements. Don't groan or complain, do what you're supposed to do and with enthousiasm! Hustle!

  5. Call every ball LOUDLY.

Hustle on every play.  Even when no one else does.  An example is a hitting line.  Hustle to get your shot after you hit it.  Most people will jog to get their ball and the jog back into the line.  RUN.

Never say anything negative.  Always be positive to everyone and everything in the camp.

If the coach corrects something you do, your answer is "thank you , I will work on that" and MEAN it.  Do not roll your eyes or anything like that.

Wear a bright colored t-shirt.  Preferably volleyball or with your name on it.

Ask your coach a question if you are struggling on a particular skill.  See if they can see something to help you.

  6. hey i had the same problem here are some tips.

    1. you could go in before practise and set up the net and get everything ready.

    2. instead of taking a long drink break take a drink and get a ball and start bumping to your self. that always helps

    3. if you want to be a setter get neer a wall and start setting against it.

    4. ask your coach if you could stay a couple mins. after practise to work on some of the drills like bumping setting and digging.
