Any tips on how to improve your skills in Rumycube...?

I would say to keep the runs more than the sets.  I think there is more flexibility with the runs.  You can break them up and make different runs if you have extra tiles or use them in sets if you need to.  You just have to play better competition to start getting better (kinda like volleyball).
