Any tips on how to set a volleyball better???

in practice were working on our setting but thats like the hardest thing for me i cant get it right. im pretty pro at every thing else lol =] but setting just gets me...any tips ???

  1. keep your knees bent and when the ball comes toward you make your hands in like a diamond position and push the ball up as hard as you can to make it go high enough for someone else to get it


  2. 1) Take and posititon your hands like your holding a milk jug.

    2) Just push up whenever the ball is about to hit your hands.

    Its easy enough. Hope I helped. XD

  3. well wht you have to do is kind of make a triangle and just push like right up like a boom. hope this helps

OK well first, legs should be shoulder width apart. then put you hands on ur hips. this should determine where u put ur hands when starting to do the set. then always keeps ur legs shoulder width apart. one tip:always have two feet on the ground!! this will help u get a better solid set, and help u aim. when seting to a certain spot, make sure ur hips and body face that way. this helps with aim. and use ur wrists!! its not just fingers. to help practice, use a volleyabll against a wall. hope this helps, and good luck!! ^_^

  6. wat i do is i just blast my sterio and lay down on my bed for like hours and keep setting up in the air and i used to suck at setting too but then after i did this for a while they actually moved me to the setters possition

  7. Make sure that you are setting the ball starting at your forehead, not your chin. That's a carry. Lots of athletes do start by setting from their nose or chin, just because when the watch the ball they tilt their head back. Look up with your eyes - not your whole head.

    Also, don't 'swim' keep your finish and don't hit your sides with hands after. The reason for that if you 'swim' and you go to early you will miss the ball completely and it will hit you in the face, it hurts and its really embarrassing. Start normal and just follow threw. Good Luck!!

  8. 1.) make a little window when you put your hands 2gether

    2.) make ur hands so the ball can fit easily and stay there

    3.) USE YOUR LEGS!! not your arms or hands

    4.) bend or squat and push up

    5.) make a superwoman with ur hands (pushing ur hands up toward the sky, like superwoman)

    6.) practice practice practice!! on the wall set 2 urself 50 times a day or more!
