Any tips on moving to Spain? Namely Salou/Catalunya?

we are a family of 2 adults and 2 kids aged 9 and 12 and are seriously considering moving to this area. any ideas on schooling, work that might be available to us brits and roughly how much we might need to get started in maybe a cond/flat on a complex please? any sort of tips you can give would be most welcome. thanks in advance.

  1. Your biggest problem will be finding work. Even if you do the wages will be much less than you are used to. Employment is on the increase here. The only work you may get would be bar work unless you intend working for yourselves.

    If you are bringing money over to Spain to get started then bear in mind the exchange rate is not good. It's about 13% less than a year ago.

    It's a great life over here, but you really need to look into this venture a lot more. Come to Spain for a few days, go and see a Spanish (English speaking) lawyer and find out exactly how you go about it.

    The beaurocracy here will drive you mad at times.

    I'm not trying to put you off, but your timing for this venture may not be the best.
