  1. I've found listening to music gets me in the zone. Also control your breathing and try to get a rhythm going and your body will follow


  2. your first and last lap should be faster than you 3rd and 2nd

  3. The book of theory says that your splits should be equal and that's the fastest way to cover a distance.  So calculate your splits and memorize them.  Add 5-10 seconds to lap 1 for warmup.  Listen carefully to your split times and know exactly where you are.

  4. i usually breathe in twice and then breathe out twice again and then on the first laps, you could just jog slow and the at that last ones, you could just pick up more and more speed and if you have a lot more energy 'till the last lap, pick up more speed to the very finish of your lap!!!!!!!!! i do this at school when we have to run!!!!!

  5. Run negative splits-the first lap slow, next lap pick it up, the next lap pick it up a little more, then the last lap give it all you got.

  6. ask who the fastest person is and stay at her pace
