I love taking pictures so I'm thinking of just bypassing their $10 a photo option and just take my own pics.

Any reason why I should buy their photos that I might be missing out on?

Thanks everyone...

  1. I actually took a picture of the picture when it was hanging up for people to buy. Its not the same for sure so if its an awesome picture, glossy, and a decent size - 10 bucks isnt that much.

  2. Take your own! They frown on having people take their own photos at the locations where the staff is taking them, but you can take your own.

The ones taken by cruise ship staff range in price from about $10 to $20.

They are also copyrighted, so if you buy one and want to make copies, you would have to do it at home on a scanner to avoid issued with getting prints made elsewhere.

  3. That is a big way of saving money, by taking your own pictures. Now they will be taking your pictures every time you turn the corner, but you are under no obligation to buy anything. You can look all you want at the pictures they take. Another way to save a ton of money is to limit any alcohol you drink to a minimum. This is the way cruise ships make a lot of money is selling lots of drinks, even the non alcoholic ones too. Lastly, try to be be too tempted in the gift shops on the ship too. I also pick very carefully which shore excursions I go on. Like ones on a bus that take you to town to shop are a waste of money, but many of the shore excursions with lots of activities are well worth it. have a great cruise.

  4. take your own pics just because they don't take lots of pics on the cruise, and sometime the lighting is of or the pic isn't perfect
