Any tips on teaching a 4 year old sportsmanship?

  1. With my boys I just try and tell them to be a poor sport---no nannynannynana's etc, no cheating and not be a poor winner either---not rubbing it in the other's faces, etc.

    I am constantly telling them.  I'm hoping that one day it will just kick in.

  2. My daughter is 5 and she has been playing sports for two years and sportsmanship is a hard one. We try to keep it simple  by creating ways to show her. Like we cheer on the other team when they do good as well as our girls. We also focus on building skills and not on the winning aspect  of sports. Let your child know how proud you are that they learned a new skill and used in the game. Keep up the work it is work and the more you show examples in everyday life the more the child will make the connection.
