  1. If you don't play the lottery you can't win.

    Choose a quick pick, if you play more than one  group of numbers you stand a better chance.

    A sure way to make the lottery work for you is to

    instead of playing, invest the money that you would normally use to play with in in stocks, bonds, or investments like that. You are still gambling but with more of a chance.

  2. it's all luck. go get a chinese fortune cookie and use those numbers

  3. Pray that you find the winning lottery number on the floor.

    EDIT: the person at the bottom is wrong. the odds to win the jackpot are 1:175 million. Not billions. Everytime i buy tickets i just choose the machine to choose numbers for me. But the winner yesterday put his family's birthdays and that was the winning number. I think im gonna do that too.

  4. use the same set of numbers everytime.....plus a couple machine picks.

  5. Yeah pray that you have good luck

  6. I work a grocery store, and the water cooler is at the customer service desk, so obviously I am always standing at customer service haha. I see so many people pass through getting their lottery tickets, and it's pitiful. They have their favorite numbers that they use religiously, thinking that it matters.

    The lottery is random. There is no way to predict what numbers will come up. You can try whatever combination that you see fit, looking for patterns in the results. At the end of the day, you're wasting your time. If you want to buy the ticket that's your business, but I'm telling you, it doesn't matter what numbers you pick, just buy the d**n thing!

    One lady had a shitfit because she lost the sheet with her favorite numbers, I'm talking a literal break down here. It's no different than the people who stand looking at the row of scratch ticket and stand there thinking which one is the best to take. It makes no difference, buy it.

    Sorry, but it's such an annoyance after witnessing this for 2 years.

  7. Buy a ticket for every combination.

  8. in a lottery in which you have to pick 6 numbers from 40, none of which can be the same, the odds of you winning are

    40x39x38x37x36x35 = 2 763 633 600

    so you have a 1 in 2,763,633,600 , or, in words, a one in  two billion seven hundred and sixty-three million six hundred and thirty-three thousand six hundred, chance of winning.

    solution? buy 2,763,633,600 tickets.

    //EDIT

    To the person at the top, it depends on how many numbers from which you can choose as well as the number of numbers you can choose. I was assuming a lottery in which you can pick 6 numbers from 40 in my calculations. I accept that in your particular lottery the odds may be better, but either way the chance you're gonna win is still low.

  9. If I knew that,I wouldn't be sitting here on a Saturday night answering dumb questions on Y/A,I'd be out shopping or on a cruise or something! LOL

  10. My method has been that I have selected a set of numbers in such a way to guaratee that will have at least 1 number right in every drawing using the least number of combinations. Now, while I haven't won the lottery (yet), I have had some success getting

    3 numbers or 2 numbers + the mega.  I play the same numbers

    knowing that it may be a very long time before I hit anything big

    like 5 of 5 or 4 + the mega which usually pays in the thousands.

    Here's the thing: You have to have some inkling that you're destined to win some major money ( if not the whole thing ) or

    you shouldn't even play.  Do you now what I mean?

  11. Check the website for your state lottery each day and keep track of the numbers for a year. Then pick the numbers that come up most often. It won't win you a million but might keep you ahead of the game. Good luck.
