Question:

Any tips or tricks for shaving legs?

Okay I'm deathly afraid of shaving my legs after horrible cuts I've had. I am also an athlete and have loads of scars on my legs, and I'm scared to cut over them. I hate waxing, and veet and nair give me rashes (my skin is sooo senstive). Is there something I can use, with like no razor? Any tips or ideas. Thanks so much

  1. Pluck your leg hair.

  2. Hi...  As a c/d - t/v - more so the latter, I shave my legs twice a week...So all I can add to your inquiry is the following..

First off, I use a Gillette, single blade razor...   none of these "multi' blade suicide kits.

Procedure is as follows... Starting from the TOP of the legs (s) and working downwards...

Wet down about a third of your leg length with warm water, and then apply shaving cream - covering the portion with a thin layer of shaving cream..

The one thing, so, so many people do incorrectly is that they don't hold the razor correctly...  Hold it fairly close to the actual razor head so you have CONTROL over your razor strokes, and not have it it loose and therfore allowing razor "nicks"..And use short strokes and rinse your razor frequently..

And don't do the entire length of one leg...!!! Repeat the above procedure on your next leg.

Then revert back to leg # 1 - again, working on a section, only... and continue back to the opposite leg..

AND NEVER apply a heavy hand whilst shaving ANYTHING..Try to follow the curve of your leg (s) area and don't rush.. The more you rush - the more you'll cut your legs..

Also NEVER use a dull blade... If you shave with a dull blade, you will tend to apply more pressure and this is how cuts happen..

Again, I suggest that you stay away from multi blade razors.. And you can take that from a t/v who's been shaving my legs and my entire body for eons and have not had any major problems..

    Good Luck,

    Regards,

  3. Ok try this:

    Use Head and shoulders conditioner.

Shave over your cuts, it dosn't hurt.

Use a 2 or 3 blade razor not to many and not to little.

    NEVER use store brand razors.

    Try shick.

Go with the grain not against it.

Use a sensitive skin lotion after your done.

    Try cetaphil.

Before you shve scrub your legs to get dead skin that can clog the razor.

NEVER shave more than 4 times a week.

    Hope this helps,

    Jamie

  4. electric razor. they work...so Ive heard. but people tell me it takes a long time.... but if you are going to shave w/ a razor, then soak your legs first. i heard it is better for your legs or something....Take it slow. Theres a LOT of girls like you who are scared about it... =]

  5. Aww I'm sorry about the cuts :[ I don't know why, and even aside my notorious shaky hands and clumsiness, I've never cut my legs.

Have you tried spray hair remover? Maybe you could try one that also has an after-spray cream to prevent redness and itchiness.

Also when holding the razor, do very small sections at a time, don't try to cover the entire length of your leg in one stroke, take it easy.

Invest in a good-quality razor, not a disposable. I think Venus Breeze or Venus Embrace are good ones.

Use a shaving cream that won't irritate your skin and smells great. OR even try using a cream hair conditioner, like garnier fructis [lol, I do this], for some reason, it's way easier for me, lol. Makes your legs feel slicker.

    GOOD LUCK!

  6. i know! i need to shave my legs too........ but, i'm not allowed too.. so yeah...         i guess pull it out witha nail cutter?? i'm just kdding.. hehe i don't now

  7. if you get a proffesional wax it shouldnt hurt to much

otherwise there is no other way getting hair off of your legs apart from delipatory cream, waxing or shaving

unless you get it lazered off

    but thats meant to hurt

    sorry!

    xx
