  1. Organization is important for a good student. Do you have a binder? Get the three-hole punched tabs that divide a binder into sections. After getting handouts from teachers, put them in the right section for the class.

Have a system set up. At the front of the binder, you can put papers for "Homework for Tonight", then in the next section is "Finished Homework--Needs to be Turned In". After those sections, are miscellaneous papers for your classes.

Always remember to put the papers in your binder, in the correct place, immediately. Make it a habit:Before going to bed, put all of your finished homework in your binder, and put all the things you need for school in your backpack. That way, after eating breakfast, you can grab your backpack and go, knowing that everything you need is already in it.

Talk to your math teacher, and let him/her know that you usually have more trouble with math. Or, get a classmate who you know is excellent at math and can meet with you to go over homework or classwork.

You should be aiming to get all A's in your classes. Don't be content to stay at a B average. If there are some subjects you have trouble with, get to know the teacher well from the start of the school year. Teachers always to want to help students reach the next level, and so they will be happy to assist you if you ask for help.

    Good luck!
