I want to make track this year. The tryouts are in like november of december (its indoor track) but at our school its really hard to make the track team. I still have 3-4 months. is that enough time to get ready?

i don't have time to go jog and practice everyday but if i practiced like every other day would i improve at all?

any suggestions on how i should run? especially cause i want to be a sprinter...

  1. Since I am also new to running i cant give you any specific tips. But I would try contacting your coach and asking them for training ideas/tips (thats what I did and it was really helpful). Also, get your mile time so you can try to improve it.

  2. if you want to make it as a sprinter, but you don't have the time, i don't think you should try out at all, especially if your schedual is busy during season.  if you wanna be a good sprinter, a quick one, it requires at least an hour to an hour and a half of practice EVERYDAY [well weekdays]

3-4 months is PLENTY of time especially if you start running now.  don't even both with jogs because thats not gunna make you qualify as a sprinter, but maybe a distance runner.  do agility drills and actually do some sprint workouts.

practicing every other day is really going to affect you because you're going to feel a bit out of shape.  its better to stay consistent so yeah, if you can't devote time into track, don't bother with it at all.

  3. If you cant run everyday, you are wasting your time with track, join the drama club

  4. If you can't run every day then i don't think that you'd make the team. You would improve but running requires constant preservence, and you must eat healthy and run 6 out of 7 days a week.....NOT jog.

  5. Run faster than everyone else. I kid. Just do the best you can. If you try your hardest, I'm sure you'll do fine.
