  1. Year 9, I just came out of it (going into year 10 on Thursday) is the best, I would advise just doing your homework, actually trying and doing work.

The school/teachers aren't aloud to give you homework in January in January, until May after the sats, and then they forget about it anyway.

It's not much harder, just the same, but just they have sats, the sats I had were easy, and you seem pretty smart so you should easilly pass them, I got 7's in all subjects and I didn't revise...

  2. Don't worry too much about the SATs; to be honest they're not THAT important and by the time you reach Year 10 everyone will have forgotten about them.

Try and enjoy this year, it get's a lot tougher in the next few years. Also this is the year to start figuring out what you want to do in your future, so try and work hard in lessons and work out what you enjoy and what you're good at so when it comes to picking your GCSEs you know what to choose.

    Good Luck!

  3. Make a good first impression to everyone. Most people are gonna say be yourself but sometimes if you want to be popular you gotta make yourself a little different/unique. My advice to you would be to choose a personality and stick with it. Making friends with people that were popular in your school from year 8 would be cool too thats if you go to the same hs. Most of all have fun. High school is FUN and it should something you look back on as a great memory.

  4. High school depending on who you are can be horrible or awesome.  My advice always have confidence in your self be the sh** no matter what people think of you.  As far as test and so on school is school study stdy

  5. Just came out of year 9 - I'm back in September as year 10.

You know, year9 is not that bad...it's much better than 8, because in 8 we just got ignored- lol. 9 has heavy preparation for the SAT tests, but don't be too worried- yes, try your best and revise, but if you don't do well it won't affect you. In 9 there is some preparation for the GCSEs, and try not to forget your homework this year.

However once your SAT tests are over you can take a breather- I'm sure it will be rewarding! And at the end you get to pick your options for year10 which is a breath of fresh air, so make sure you pick carefully!

Good luck with year9 and most importantly enjoy it--have fun!

  6. so you don't end up doing a total crammage of revision just before the sats, spend about 10 mins a night just reading through everything youve written in the day just so it sticks in your mind.

And this might sound sappy, but enjoy it because after this year the work gets a lot harder, demanding and much more is expected of you.

  7. OMG! Please take year 9 seriously and do your work to your best advantage!

I'm now year 11 and I regret SO MUCH that I didn't pay attention.

Year 9 will probably include more serious task sheets and assignments but its not such the thing to worry about.

DO NOT care what others think because you will regret it like I did. Work hard and you will be fine and dandy.

  8. Just don't f**k with the seniors.

  9. I go to a private school and recently (Last Thursday) started Year 10. Year 9 is pretty difficult as the teachers just go on and on about how important the year is. You will get a lot of homework, but I advise you do all of them for your own benefit. If you slip up on a few of the homeworks or take too many days off, you may miss an important subject that will bound to come up in SATS. I got a 777 as my results. This was because I revised and worked hard throughout the whole year, not just in the last week.

Make a revision time table for yourself and go along with it in the last 5 months or so before SATS. Half an hour science in one day, half an hour maths in the other etc.

If you were a student who didn't continuosly give work in or complete work, I think you should start a clean page and try your best at everything. Because, your GCSE papers are going to be chosen for you according to your SATS results. So if you got a low SATS result, you are probably going to get a Foundation paper in your GCSE's. These last few years of Secondary are going to be difficult, work hard, get through it, and when your in university or in your job, look back and say, "I was succesful, and I had the greatest time of my life." You will say that, because in College or University, life's going to get harder. =D

Well Good Luck, hope you get results that your happy with! Make your parents proud!!!

  10. Just keep focused on your work because your grades start to count this year! It shouldn't be too hard but of course it will be worse than 8th! good luck!

  11. Wow you are totally effd grade 9 is so much harder i cried every day of school no joke you get reports every day i cry an cry you better just drop out of school while the dropping is good.
