any idea how to find a pawn shop in cozumel to contact?/looking for a lost camera /6 wks ago/and yes to the very "direct" PERSON WITH THE STRONG ANSWER about going overboard...my response is at least im doing something about it/trying to find it/not just sitting on my bum crying about it/yes i am realistic ..and am aware of the ways of the "real" world and realized it was probably gone .from the get go..but at least when i look back on it..ill know that i tried to reach out somehow and solve my problem. and be proactive for my cause i realize there is no other way to get it.but figured what the heck..ill ask online..to compare my lost pictures to someones fire loss in california..or new orleans..and what theve gone through is absurd..everyone places their own value on there lives..and possessions..i am well aware they are just pictures..but i have the right to try and find them my own way..all the other "stuff"..that gets posted and read by people i think the world can tolerate me

  1. I am so sorry to hear about your camera.  I am also sorry to hear about the harsh responses you've received- which are completely unnecessary.   It's not for anyone to judge how important something is to another and the only appropriate response is to show sensitivity and understanding, no matter what the situation.

Now, I live in Mexico, and I can unfortunately tell you that cameras and such items are not usually pawned, but instead, sold to friends and co-workers.  It's ridiculously easy for locals to sell such items, particularly because these items are so expensive here when they are new, used items from Americans are in high demand.

Your best bet would be to run an ad in a local paper, post on the spanish message boards, and be sure to put the REWARD offer first.  You might also ask that they publish the photos on a free photo site so you can access them, in exchange for a reward.  Your chances are slim to none- I won't lie- but I wish you all the best and I admire your dedication.
