Any truth to the 6-volt battery being filled with AAs?

I was just curious as to if a 6-volt battery is really filled with 32 AA batteries. I got an e-mail that showed it but it doesn't look true. Anyone know if it has any truth behind it?

  2. no then it would be huge...

BUt yea it does have musltiple cells looking like AAs, but they really aren't AAs...

  3. I've been told that not all battery manufactures do that, and that you have to get the right brand.

I removed the top of my 18 volt rechargeable drill battery and it has 12 C cell rechargeable batteries inside.

  4. The chemistry of a bettery determines it's cell voltage.  If a 6 volt battery were only 1 cell, it would be 1.5 volts, just like a D, C, AA, or AAA battery.   Dispite the size difference, they're just 1 cell and are 1.5 volts.  To get 6 volts, 4 cells are needed.  They're not AA cells.  They're bigger and a different shape, but it requires 4 cells to get to 6 volts.  Same with the little 9 volt battery.  There's 6 cells inside one of those to add up to 9 volts.  Again, if it were 1 cell it would have only 1.5 volts, no matter the size or shape.
