I want to know if there are any unclaimed rock islands or small remote islands left on Earth that are not officially claimed by any country or organisation which one can declare as independent? Dont say Antarctica because it is governed by a treaty. Any links or help would be much appreciated!

  1. Antarctica is covered by international agreements, but is not owned by any one country. Several countries have made claims, but their claims are, at least for now, set aside because of the treaties/agreements.

the open ocean and the ocean floor beyond territorial waters is also unclaimed territory.

  2. None, The world has been 100% claimed. Even if an island was to apear in ocean, it would allready be claimed by what area it was in.
