I have wierd symptoms and have been and out of the doctors for each one seperately, Im wondering if this sounds familiar. Everytime I try to research them Sjogrens comes up..

Recurring ear infections with swelling feels like inside my jaw by the ears then fluid drainage

Then next I get what looks like pink eye feels like I have dirt or piece of dust in my eye that irritates, with crust in the am

During this time I usually feel like sh%t all over cant really explain it, I feel like fever or fatigue.

Sometimes around the same time I get all over tightness itchiness in the skin and extreme dryness in the skin on the v****a where it dries then peels, then its fine.

It usually happens in order, it comes all at the same time and then goes away and I am fine.

  1. Yes. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis that is rapidly progressing into Lupus. I have never been able to wear contact lenses for some reason. Went to the dr this week and found out I have Sjogren's and its drying my eyes out, so I have to get artificial tears now. See a Rheumatologist because thats the dr for this.

  2. Yes it sounds to me that is what you got. My sons has been having swelling on the left side of there face off and on for 5 yrs.he is always thirsty.I have taken them to the doc a 100 times and just until recently they have always told me it was a virus but now they are very concerned.they did not tell me what they were worried about they are still doing alot of test but when i looked stuff up on here every thing keeps coming back Sjogrens also. I have read alot about this the last couple days and every thing you talked about is listed as symptoms of this. I would really ask my doc if I was you because sjogrens can be a symptom of other genetic disorders.I hope you find out good luck.

  3. My mother-in-law has this and you are describing her to a tee.  She also has a very dry mouth, and because of this has dental problems.

You need to see a specialist who works with people with autoimmune diseases.

  4. Yes, I do have Sjogren's Syndrome! Everyone has different symptoms but what you are describing pretty much sounds like you do have it. Your family doctor won't be able to diagnose this, you need to see an ear, nose, throat specialist. You will also need to see a rheumatologist, dentist and an ophthalmologist for your eyes. Also a gynaecologist as you probably have irritable bowel syndrome. This is really no fun to have. Sjogren's Syndrome is an autoimmune disease which causes dryness. All the inside of your body becomes dry which causes other illnesses. That's why it is very important that you receive care from different specialists. Drink a lot of water. My salivary glands do not function and my eyes and nose are very dry. I also have trouble swallowing because this usually affects your thyroid gland. I need to put eye drops every day and I take naproxen 500 mg. twice a day or I wouldn't be able to function my days. I've had this for 9 years now and I don't want to scare you but it doesn't get any better. Definitely see an ENT for a diagnosis to make sure that's what you have. I wish you the best of luck! You are very young to have this.

  5. no, I don't have it, but I heard people with that syndrome have dry mouth and dry eyes. if you want to rule it out or have a real diagnosis - you'll have to see a neurologist, not a general md
